A Little Perspective
Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Early this week saw me staying at a new (to me, though judging by the rips in the upholstery, not new at all) hotel in Sydney, Cape Breton. With this new venue came a new view out my window. A gigantic musical instrument, to be more precise. It's no giant pysanka or teepee, but the Sydney Fiddle is pretty darn neat.
I didn't get right up to it -- breakfast, and the promise of bacon, got in the way. While I ate, however, I watched this cruise ship pull in and got a little lesson in perspective.

I also got a shot of the Cape Ann III, a boat that is currently wreaking its own brand of havoc on a town that clearly doesn't need any other environmental disasters on its hands.

Those are amazing shots! I'm so jealous, I want to wake up to a giant fiddle out my window! Instead, I have pollen.
Great photos..and count me among the jealous!
OK. I give. What were you doing at a hotel in Sydney? And exactly who played that fiddle?
Those are so cool. I don't recall hearing about the Cape Anne III, but then, I live in a bubble.
Some days I miss the Maritimes. Maybe when I retire I'll get to go back.
