The Last 7 Days

Another round of 7Days (of self portraits), hosted wonderfully by doow and Lauren, has come to a close. Basically, the rules are that you have to be somewhere in the picture, and you have to be the one officially taking the picture (timers and remotes are fine). People get fairly creative with reflections, shadows, silhouettes, and so much more. There are also themes for certain days to guide submissions. ("Gold" and "food" were themes for Day 2 and Day 5 this time around.)

This time around I experienced the full range of photographic emotion, with limited success. I had a few shots that came naturally, some that came under extreme duress (and probably looked like it), but above all I think I grew a little this time around.

Since this is the third time I've taken part in the 7Days challenge, it was daunting to come up with new ways of making photographs with me in them, that weren't directly pictures of me at this place or that.

You can see my 7Days submissions in a slideshow by clicking below:

If you want to see some of the other (awesome) creative entries, go here.

And because flickr has so many awesome little tools, I'll probably compile some of my faves into a montage and post it as well (giving full credit to the artists, that is.)

I didn't notice any duress, but I know the feeling! This was also my second run at Christmas, as we'd done an initial run this time last year to try it out ... though having just gone to Flickr in the middle of this comment, I see that I didn't do any bauble reflections or anything like that, it seems I can't complain about having already done the traditional Christmas shots. Dammit. Why didn't I check that earlier?

Is there any way being notified about these seven day challenges? I tend to miss them besides lurking daily on flikr?

doow: I didn't mean to imply it wasn't fun. It really was. You know how it is when the well feels like it's running dry.

richgold: You can ask doow (http://www.dreamdust.co.uk) to add you to her list, and you'll be notified. Alternatively, you could just read her site every day ;)
I would expect the next run of 7Days to happen in March or April.
