Ask your doctor if Hogwarts is right for you

This past weekend saw me finishing Book 6 of the Harry Potter series* ("…and the Half-Blood Prince", in case you've forgotten the numbering) and renting the 4th movie, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Unfortunately, because we can barely outlast our children when it comes to bedtimes, the movie was screened at our house in two installments, and I finished the 6th book in the interim. This, understandably, led to a little confusion over timelines and major character-related events.

* Give away the ending to the series and I'll never speak to you again.

The book, the movie, and several "breakthrough drug" advertisements during football games have left me inspired to pen the following list/quiz.

Harry Potter Spell or Pharmaceutical name?

1. Levicorpus!
2. Lipitor!
3. Accio!

10. Obliviate!
11. Prometrium!
12. Cardura!
13. Rictusempra!
14. Glipizide!
15. Tergio!

Tergio sounds like a new pill for erectile dysfunction.

Great job on the list!

A couple of them left me consulting my CPS. To be fair, I think that the FDA approves things a lot faster than Canada's Health Protection Branch, so there were some new names I hadn't seen. Although there is a good chance that Crucio is just awaiting the rubber stamp!

Damn, I was doing good until I got to Glipizide.

Well, I got about half the pharmaceuticals. Dunno that I want to know what that says about me.

Fabulous quiz! I had just re-watched the Potter film, too, so did pretty well.
Interesting how life imitates dark arts imitates life.
