And now, a word from our sponsor

Wednesday morning I received a phone call from Movember head office in Toronto. The voice on the other end asked if I would be up to doing an interview with the local CBC folks on the Movember movement. Apparently some scoop there had contacted the head office to find out if anything was going on out east, and if so, could they do a spot with a participant. I, of course, was up for it, and agreed to have the journalist call me a little later.

Within six hours, I was sitting outside the radio room for the local after-work radio show, Mainstreet, about to be interviewed by Bob Murphy (who, unsurprisingly, looks just like his identical twin brother Tom.) A fellow Mo Bro and I talked about the Lanny McDonalds, the Movember movement, the reaction of our friends and family to the fact that we were both growing questionable moustaches, and our intentions to host a wrap-up event on the last day of the month. Apparently we did a fine job in the live interview (I had expected something taped, but I remained composed for the entire interview), and even managed to sound a little humourous at points. Who knows whether announcing the Mo Town Parté will result in better attendance, but I guess we'll find out in the next 24 hours.

In other Movember news, the New York City party was held on Tuesday night, and if you want to see some pictures from the event (featuring Miss Movember candidate Brianna and Ms. Gillian aka Kitty LaRoux), look here and here. If our party turns out half as fun as theirs looks, we'll be in good shape.

Next year it'll be bigger, and better. No, not the moustache. That'll still be cheesy. I highly doubt my 36th year will make an appreciative difference in my ability to sprout macho facial hair. A coworker confided in me today that she found the time lapse photos I posted on my cubicle wall "disturbing." I'm sure it's just a matter of taste (like, my lack thereof).

Pictures from the Parté and possibly even a link to the CBC Radio interview to follow...

Also, special thanks go to my newest online Movember supporters, Stacy and Corgimom. You guys rock.

Hurray for the Mo and congrats on surviving--nay, thriving!--in another NaBloPoMo!
(Corgimom says you're welcome)
