And I Act Like One, Too

This time last year, I was downplaying my aging by somewhat morosely referencing all the death & disease that goes along with families getting older. I didn't feel any older.

This year I'm decidedly more upbeat about things, and other than a small injury sustained while performing acts more appropriately performed by someone in good physical condition, I'm feeling pretty good. Perhaps it's this early daylight saving regime, shedding a little more light in the evenings.
Compared to last year, I'm in a new house with a new job, and I'm husband to a fantastic wife and dad to (very nearly) two toddlers (okay, the husband thing is still the same). I've been through some challenging life-changes in the last year and made it through unscathed. Perhaps I'm tempting fate, but this seems pretty great.

So come on, 34. Let's see what you've got.

Happy Birthday! 34 is good, I liked 34. I think it's the even numbers versus odd numbers thing, evens just seem much nicer.

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I was 34 once...and I learned that a birthday celebration is best served by celebrating all month long! Go for it, Mr. Mike, and a very happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Mike! I had a beer to celebrate both your birthday, and my not being homeless! May both states continue for many years to come! :)

Happy Birthday.

Henry would wish you a happy birthday too, but he's still hungover from celebrating the eve of your birth last night. Or so he says.

Haaaaaahhhhhhhhhpy birthday to you...
(and you know the rest of the song so given my lack of singing voice I'll just top there).

And to think that I won't be able to play masters until I'm a year older than you. Sorry, until I am a year older than you are now...
