Weakened Blogging for the Weekend Reader

It frightens me that I'm currently on $150 worth of medication for this bronchitis, and I may still be the healthiest person in the house. The Lovely Wife is now a victim of some sort of flu, as is The Toddler. We actually just performed an emergency bedding-change because The Toddler's delicate stomach and chronic dry cough aren't a good pair. Younger son is between colds, but his nose has been running like a faucet for two days (and he's cutting teeth, yippee-skippee!). I'm too exhausted to be entertaining tonight.

However, I will mention that St├ęphane Dion won the Liberal Leadership after four ballots. Frankly, I didn't think it would go past two (nor do I know what the average is). Not bad, being ranked third, generally out of the eyes of the pundits all through the race. Ignatieff didn't pick up many votes after the first ballot, and Rae managed to get Brison's share after the first (but Scotty Big Knot and his delegates then leaned over to Dion in the end). All in all, very interesting. And a little scary that I probably dedicated 12 hours of my weekend to this race. Of course, I also managed to take care of two kids and throw a coat of paint on the dining room walls.

If I show up to work on Monday and my eyes are actually open? I'll be shocked.

I hope all are well soon in your home. A useful tip for toddler bedding is to double up: plastic sheet, bedsheet, plastic sheet, bedsheet. This is really nice when the tummy empties in the middle of the night.

i know what you mean about watching the leadership race all weekend. what bugs me, though, is that i do not hang around with people who follow the leadership race of the liberal party. i shall admit, however, that i let out a pretty good "whoop!" when i learned that dion won. well, more accurately, when i learned that ignatief lost.

corgimom: thanks for the tip. Brilliant!

christine: I don't know anyone who watches this stuff, really. But at least I have my wife to argue with on a daily basis :)
