Remedial Long-Weekend Math
by themikestand

3-day weekend
+ 2 sick kids
+ 1 sick (yet still lovley) wife
+ 2 liquid antibiotics (3 times a day)
+ 1 oral steroid
+ 2 steriod inhalers
+ 2 rescue inhalers
+ 1 recurring bout of benign positional vertigo
+ 1 probable case of carpal tunnel or RSI
+ grandparent away on vacation
+ the onset of flu-like symptoms
-----------------------
= one exhausted mikestand (husband, daddy....)

And the winter cold & flu season hasn't even started yet.

I am reluctant to say "thank goodness I'm back to work", because really, I feel like...well, like mrzlgrbz and The Lovely Wife is now flying solo with the kids for the next couple of days. I'd very much like to make it through this chest cold/virus thing that's setting up shop in our house without antibiotics, but my hope is running out.

All was not lost, however. I did get some good Daddy/Toddler time, a movie date with The Lovely Wife (Stranger than Fiction - go see it. It's good.), a make-up swim outing, lunch with friends, and dinner with Papa (aka the FIL). It's amazing what we'll do despite our failing, ailing bodies.

And how was your weekend?

Yuck. :( I hope you start feeling better soon. Being back at work can backfire, because then whatever you gave to everyone before you left comes back to bite you in the ass.

Ah, oral steroids (orapred, I assume) the miracle drugs that I hate and love.

Sorry to hear about you ailing predicament.

I should have mentioned that I'm probably the healthiest of the bunch (right now) -- No prescription meds for me (yet), and the cold is moving slowly (for now.).

If I could just get the other 3/4 of my house a little healthier, we'd be golden.

Dude, if you make it through this un-scathed you should donate your anti-bodies so the govt. can make super soldiers with hyper immune systems. Oh ya, and maybe some better flu shots while they're at it.
